eight years since 1998, www.tripod.com
has generously hosted my site for free.
It started as a hobby of building websites
for an IRC chat undernet server channel
#surigao website where list of channel
members who are all surigaonon both
those in the country and abroad, the
site also contains about surigao del
norte and its tourist spots. But due
to the increasing monthly traffic and
growing popularity, the site has to
have its own domain. Thus, I created
www.SurigaoIslands.com.
This website is updated regularly through
contributions from different sources
i.e. the local government, non-governmental
organizations, private companies and
other concerned individuals.The highest
recorded site statistics was last May.
2006 when it had 42,000 visits and 3.6
million hits in a month. The website
is increasingly getting visitors from
different countries all over the world.
Through sponsorships of events in different
major cities, the site is exposed thru
advertising materials such as Banners,
Posters and Multimedia.
However, the great
bulk of the endeavor in this site...
from photography, web design, graphic
and new media, marketing and even the
purchase of a new domain and hosting...is
propelled by the passion and dedication
of one person... ScReWfAcE, a native
of the Surigao Islands born and raised
in a small town, where pijanga
lives...who desires to share his talents
and to show the world the remarkable
beauty of his hometown and province.
He strongly believes that through this,
he is making a difference.
 Needless
to say, this site is for you... who
knows that Surigao has a lot to offer.
For fellow Filipinos,
both at home and abroad... this is something
that you are surely proud of!
